Privacy Policy

Far Maps LLC (“Far Maps,” “we”) makes raised-relief postcards and custom terrain keepsakes. This policy covers farmaps.earth and custom.farmaps.earth. Questions or requests: hello@farmaps.earth.

What we collect

When you order a keepsake: your name, email, phone number and shipping address, plus the design you create (the place, shape, color and any text). Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
When you join our email list: your email address, and which link or ad brought you to us.
When you browse: basic technical and usage information (pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address), collected through cookies and similar technology described below.
When you contact us: whatever you choose to send.

How we use it

To make, ship and support your order; to send order and shipping emails; to send our newsletter if you signed up (you can unsubscribe from any email); to measure and improve our ads and site; and to keep the site secure and meet legal and tax obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the companies that help us run Far Maps:

Payments: Stripe
Manufacturing and shipping partners (so your order can be made and delivered)
Email: Resend (order emails) and Zoho (newsletter)
Hosting and storage: Netlify, Neon, Cloudflare
Maps and place search: Mapbox and our place-search provider (they receive the places you look up)
Advertising and analytics: Meta (Meta Pixel) and Google (Google Analytics, on farmaps.earth)
Kickstarter: if you back our campaign, Kickstarter’s own privacy policy applies to your pledge; we receive what we need to deliver your reward.

Your order details, including your shipping address, may be processed outside the United States by our manufacturing and shipping partners.

Ads, cookies and your choices

We use the Meta Pixel to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who might like them. Under some US state laws this counts as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time:

Use Privacy choices at the bottom of our pages (or in Returns, privacy & data) to turn ad tracking off for your browser.
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we don’t load ad tracking.
You can also adjust your ad settings with Meta, or use the industry opt-out at optout.aboutads.info.

If you’re in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before loading any ad tracking, and nothing runs unless you accept. We keep a record of each choice (a random browser ID, your choice, and the date) so we can show that consent was given.

We also store small items in your browser that make the site work, such as your cart and your privacy choice.

How long we keep it

Order records: up to 7 years, for tax and accounting. Email list: until you unsubscribe. Consent records: 3 years. Everything else: only as long as we need it for the purposes above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Email hello@farmaps.earth; we’ll reply within 45 days and won’t treat you differently for asking. If you’re in the EU/UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. For EU/UK visitors, we rely on your consent for ad tracking, on our contract with you to fulfill orders, and on our legitimate interest to keep the site secure and working.

Children

Our sites aren’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and post the new version here.
